ABOUT NIDD VALLEY PHYSIO

The aim at Nidd Valley Physio is to provide treatment personalised to you, with a holistic approach, which will consider all the factors leading up to your visit. I will spend time investigating how your pain affects you on a daily basis and what you want to achieve during your treatment, so in partnership we can achieve the best outcome. 

I won't tell you your problems have been caused by 'wear & tear' or 'old age', as I believe language like this can be detrimental to perception of the problem. I will make sure you fully understand your the issues you have come with and what we can do about it in plain, easy to understand terms. 

I specialise in movement, whether this is getting you ready for your first running race or if you just want to get more mobile around the home, the principles are the same and there is alway an opportunity to learn to move better.

ABOUT SIOBHÃN

My name is Siobhãn and I gained my BSc in Physiotherapy from Liverpool University in 2012. My passion is being in the great outdoors and previous to this, I completed a degree in Outdoor Studies in the Lake District spending several subsequent years living and travelling around the world from Hong Kong to the Canadian Rockies.

The Nidd Valley is now where I call home, and where I hope to be able to help my local community in achieving their physical goals and reducing their pain through a holistic approach of movement and education. Since graduating I have gained a broad range of experience of working in the NHS, as a ski physio in Val d'sere and in private practice in the UK. In addition to this I have successfully set up my own yoga and Pilates classes which I will hope to be starting in the local area in the New Year.

Siobhan is a passionate advocate for Pilates, extremely knowledgable and an excellent teacher. Her sessions are tailored to allow participants of all abilities to be challenged yet hugely rewarded. She makes herself aware of all her clients individual limitations, ensuring she protects any injuries and always offers appropriate alternatives for positions. For me... Siobhãn is very gifted in her understanding of the body and explaining the relevance of each exercise. Her very unique style of teaching invites you to... think about how you move... improve how you move... so you ultimately know how to move. I would thoroughly recommend Siobhãn's classes to anyone who wants to improve their flexibility, core strength and general well being. She combines her enthusiasm for people and Pilates to create a stimulating and safe environment.
